The Cottages of Texarkana offered community members a first-hand look yesterday at its new state-of-the-art nursing facility, located at 4701 Jefferson Ave. The cottages will offer residents long- and short-term quality care and promise positive relationships between residents and staff.
"Unlike traditional care settings, the schedule of each resident at The Cottages will be decided by the resident, rather than by the staff or their work schedules,” said Rachel Bunch, executive director of the Arkansas Health Care Association (AHCA). “This community represents the future of quality resident care in the state, and we’re fortunate for the opportunity to help spearhead that shift."
The grand opening featured a tour of the facility, which includes amenities like private rooms, en suite bathrooms, gourmet kitchens and spacious living areas that foster an environment that feels like home. Several Arkansas representatives joined Bunch in attendance, including Sen. Jimmy Hickey Jr.; Rep. Carol Dalby; and Dolly Henley.
Arkansas High School band kicked off the festivities by playing the National Anthem. After the ceremony, Texarkana Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening. Guests were able to tour the 100,000 sq ft facility. The Cottages at Texarkana is equipped to serve 120 elders through long term care and short-term rehabilitation. Each cottage has private rooms, a gourmet kitchen, spacious living areas and patios for elders to feel at home.
The facility also has a brand new, state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym to help elders thrive in this season of life. Our expert staff are excited to serve Texarkana through providing quality long-term care.
